Quick answers
Do I need to know anything before I start?
No. Bridge Basics starts with what a trick is and builds from there, one small step at a time.
I already play. Is it for me?
Yes. Improver sharpens your judgement topic by topic, and Advanced is a library of standalone topics you can dip into. It’s also a good way to refresh a convention you’ve half forgotten.
Which system should I choose?
The one played where you’ll play. Most clubs in Ireland and the UK play ACOL. For online bridge or elsewhere in the world, choose Strong No‑Trump and 5-card majors. You can switch any time without losing progress.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in your browser on phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to install. Apps are on the way.
What’s free, and what does Plus add?
Bridge Basics and the first lesson of every topic are always free in both systems, with today’s Daily Deal, starter practice hands and the free handouts. Plus unlocks every course, every hand and the full Daily Deal library. See pricing →
How do you know the hands are right?
Every hand is checked by a solver, and the course is reviewed by bridge players.
Can I use it with my class?
Yes. We have materials for teachers and discounts for class groups. See For teachers →
How do I find a club near me?
See Find a club →

Step-by-step help
Getting started
- Create your free account
From the welcome screen to a saved account, step by step: your email, a sign-in link or a password, and no card details at any point.
- Try Bridge Unlocked without an account
What you can try with no account and no card, what happens to your progress, and how to save it to a free account with your email.
- Choose your bidding system when you join
The chooser step when you join: ACOL or Strong No‑Trump and 5-card majors, the 30-second comparison, and why changing later is safe.
- Find your way around the app
The home screen, the seven places, the desktop sidebar and the phone tabs, so you always know where you are and how to get back.
Account and signing in
- Sign in with an email link
Requesting a sign-in link, what the email looks like, what to tap when it arrives, and what to do if it seems slow to appear.
- Set or change your password
Adding an optional password when you join or later, changing it in your account, and signing in with it instead of the email link.
- Change your name or email address
Where your account details live, what you can change yourself, and how we help you move your account to a new email address.
- Download your data or delete your account
The self-serve export that puts a copy of your data in one file, and the permanent two-step account delete, plainly explained.
- Choose your emails and report a problem
The email preferences page (reminders, weekly summary, Bridge Tips by email), and the Report a problem and Give feedback options in Settings.
Plans and payments
Everything is free during our launch period. We’ll let you know well before payments begin.
- Upgrade to Plus
Choosing between monthly and yearly Plus, paying safely through Stripe, and what happens the moment your upgrade goes through.
- Your free trial
How the 14-day free trial of Plus works: the card you enter at the start, the email we send before any charge, and how cancelling keeps it free.
- Cancel your subscription
Where the cancel button is, what happens to your access until the period ends, and why your progress always stays saved.
- Find your receipts
Every payment has a receipt. Where the list lives, what each receipt shows, how to keep your own copy, and why a free trial has none yet.
- Ask for a refund
The full refund within 14 days of your first payment, how to ask for it, and how we handle anything after that.
Lessons and practice
- Work through a course
How topics and lessons build in order, how your progress is recorded as you go, and what the end-of-topic tests are there for.
- Review a lesson without changing your record
Replaying any lesson safely, any time. Your record only ever moves forward, so reviewing never costs you anything you have earned.
- Practice a topic
Starting a practice set, choosing five or ten hands, and turning hints on or off as you build confidence.
- Switch your bidding system in Settings
Changing between ACOL and Strong No‑Trump and 5-card majors in Settings, and how your progress in each system is kept separately.
- Quizzes, Your Call, saved items and your bridge record
The quiz and its refresher mode, Your Call for Advanced players, saving lessons and glossary terms, and your record on the stats page.
- Play your first hand
The three guided deals at the end of Bridge Basics: which cards light up and why, the count on the second hand, and playing the third one on your own.
Daily Deal and play
- Play today’s Daily Deal
Finding today’s deal on your home screen, the two-minute walkthrough, and how your streak works, including what happens if you miss a day.
- Catch up on earlier deals in the library
The Daily Deal calendar, the free seven-day window, and how the full library works when you want to go further back in time.
- Play full deals at the table
Starting a full deal, bidding and playing it through, claiming when you are certain, replaying a hand and reading the review after.
Fixing problems
- A sign-in email hasn’t arrived
Spam and junk folders, requesting a fresh link, the password alternative, and what to do if the sign-in emails keep going missing.
- The app won’t load or looks stuck
Refreshing safely, checking your connection, trying another browser, and how to send us a report if the app still will not load.
- Your progress looks wrong or missing
Checking you are signed in with the right email, how saving and syncing work, and how to get your record back where it belongs.
- Make the text bigger and other comfort settings
Text size and sound in the app, zoom on each kind of device, and calmer motion, so everything is comfortable to read and play.
- A hand looks wrong
How to report a hand from inside the app or by email, and what to include so we can check it quickly.
